Forest Moons in-person workshops are running again! I am thrilled to be sharing the nature connection and creativity of forest moons by exploring the power of moon cycles and the wisdom of trees. We began gently in June with a community workshop at the welcoming green oasis of Plot 22 in Hove followed by a smaller sharing with a business group at Spithurst Hub in July. Beautiful sessions, revelling in the power and vitality of Oak tree, beneath the waxing moon’s creative (crescent) and fulfilling (gibbous) phases amidst the flowery juiciness of mid-summer.
The Father of the Forest, Oak can be a haven for restoration while encouraging us to be strong and enduring, take things slowly and make regular contact with nature part of our every day life. At Plot 22, we decorated Oak touchwood sticks with ribbons, coloured threads and small acorn cups to take serenely powerful Oak energy home with a reminder to drink in all that life has to offer. Hub folk attached young acorns to their touchwood sticks to symbolise allowing our talents to grow and be shared when the time is right.
“Thank you Yvonne, for such a beautiful afternoon. Your calm quiet wisdom and gentle sharing of your extensive knowledge and intuitive connection to nature is very inspiring. I was also on a high afterwards, and wandered happily home via the oaks of Hove Park.” (feedback from participant)
We explored the powerful wisdom inherent in the waxing and waning moon cycle with simple props (a torch, tennis and table tennis balls) and the unique intuitive gifts that each phase along the way encourages us to use. I led folk on a meditative drum journey to meet their own personal gift or encouragement in the moment.
“I am not alone. I am supported with unconditional love.” There was pure light around me. It was very beautiful and took me into my light within. Very spiritual! (message from drum journey)
We enjoyed sharing a lovely Oak song (from the Children’s Forest book) and browsed my library of inspiring books with a reading list to take home. All nourished by refreshments, nutty flapjack full of juicy plot berries and the verdant hospitality of Plot 22 from Chris, one of the Plot team.
I am so delighted that I took the plunge to begin sharing forest moons again, even though the holding structure isn’t yet perfect – web pages need updating, other offerings need to be put together, the illustrations to accompany forest moons people are still in the pipeline. The penny has dropped that things don’t need to be perfect for us to share just as we are! In fact enjoying the bliss with others brings impetus for completion. I was on a high for days afterwards, the next autumnal workshop at Plot 22 is almost fully booked already and I trust that everything will happen when the time is right.
